The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is Celebrating 25 Years of HOPE in communities around the world. We Relay to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has taken too much. You can make a difference by taking the pledge to fight back. Join us at the 2009 Olmsted County American Cancer Society Relay For Life – July 10 and 11 at University Center Rochester.
Here’s a stunning statistic: about 50 percent of all cancer deaths could be prevented if people made everyday lifestyle changes, like not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising and eating a healthy diet, and getting recommended cancer screenings. Speaking of cancer screenings, early detection can save lives – but only if people have access to the screenings they need. Learn more by clicking over to the Cancer Action Network’s site.
Creating a World with More Birthdays – The American Cancer Society works every day to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Together with your support, we help people stay well and get well, we find cures, and we fight back – so everyone can celebrate more birthdays. And because of that progress, 11 million cancer survivors and countless others who have avoided the disease will celebrate another birthday this year. Truly, “Happy Birthday” is a victory song!
