OLMSTED RELAY MOVED INDOORS

July 11, 2008

Olmsted Relay Moved Indoors Due To Weather Concerns

9:10 AM Friday June 11, 2008

Due to potentially hazardous weather conditions predicted for this evening and overnight hours, the Olmsted County American Cancer Society Relay For Life is being moved indoors to the Sports Center fieldhouse at University Center Rochester.

There will be areas for each team to set up indoors, including the use of tents (with no stakes).  Participants are encouraged to roll out sleeping bags on the floor of the fieldhouse, and to bring in lawn chairs.

The opening ceremonies, kids activities (including the inflatable equipment), entertainment and the walking track will all be set up inside the fieldhouse.

Camping will still be allowed on the grounds of University Center Rochester, but this is done at your own risk.  Those planning to bring campers to the event are still welcome to do so, but plan on setting up an area with lawn chairs inside the fieldhouse with your team to be close to the activites as they occur throughout the night.  The food vendors will still set up just outside the fieldhouse as planned.
